More on the meteorite

On Thursday scientists started finding out more about the meteorite
that fell in Wisconsin. Scientists at UW Madison are cutting the pieces
of meteorite into paper thin sections so they can analyze them. What
they are trying to find out is what the meteorite is made of. Using
what is called a ion microprobe, they will find out what kind of
meteorite this was. The reason they are doing this is if we have to
blast an asteroid apart that is headed straight for planet Earth we will
know better how to do it. But mostly scientists are very inquisitive
about the meteorite because it came from outer space and is older than
any Earth rocks.
