More about the oil spill

Here is some more news about the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. On
Monday, May 10 the article in the _Wisconsin State Journal_ said that
the experts still hadn't figured out a way to stop the oil spill and the
oil was drifting in the ocean toward Louisiana. The oil spill is now
the same size as the state of Rhode Island. On Tuesday, an article in
the same newspaper explained how people are putting out long strings of
absorbent material called booms to try to catch the oil to protect the
shore. On Saturday, an article said that scientists think that there is
much more oil spilling every day than they originally thought. Another
article says that people in the US are upset because of the accident and
want the government to spend more money on renewable energy. An article
posted Saturday on madison.com says that now the oil company is trying
to use robots to guide a mile long tube into the leak to suck oil to the
surface. The other thing that they are doing is putting chemicals under
the surface to break up the oil spill. Nothing so far that they have
done has been very successful.
